How much should I give back to God?

Everything we have comes from God, and we give back a portion to God to show that we recognize that. Tithing means giving back a portion, ten percent, of the total of all our income. The Bible tells us to give the "first fruits", meaning we give to God before we give to the government (taxes), pay our bills, or spend on ourselves.

Income is any money you get, such as your paycheck from a job, or interest from money in the bank or a dividend from stock.

You may not be sure ju st how much a source of income will bring in. For example, you may not know how much interest you'll get. Just try to estimate. If you have a job where your paycheck varies with how many hours you work, try to estimate based on how many hours you think you will work.

And remember, put in the gross amount, not your net take home pay.

Enter the yearly amount. Do not use commas.

Here is your suggested tithe: $

This can be a difficult thing to suddenly start doing. After all, we have all been used to having that ten percent that should be going to God, and now we may feel that it would be a hardship to suddenly lose that money from the rest of our budgets. On the following page, you will find information for those of us who are not quite ready to commit to the full tithe of ten percent. Click here to go to the next page.
